Biometric data
Customers that license our biometric software can deploy it in two ways: a) within their own technical environment; or b) within our secure cloud environment. For deployments under option (a), you can refer to the policy of the customer that is licensing our biometric system for more information on how the data is treated. For deployments under option (b), your biometric data is collected and stored within our servers. Our customers may be collecting and processing your biometric data with our software for various use cases, such as employee time and attendance. When processing and storing your biometric data, we follow industry standards to safeguard it. Biometric images captured by our software are secured in transit using TLS when sent to the biometric matching system. The matching system converts the images into biometric data templates that are used for certain operations such as enrollments and authentications. Your raw biometric images are not stored within our system. Furthermore, the templates are encrypted using the 256-bit AES encryption standard. We strictly prohibit the disclosure of your biometric data without your consent and ban the company and its employees from selling or otherwise profiting from any such data.
Data retention
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. For any customer using our cloud-based biometric matching software (see Biometric Data (a) above), we store your biometric data for as long as the customer continues to use our software or as required by law. Once a customer terminates its account, your data will eventually get deleted from active databases during the next clean-up that occurs. The data deleted from active databases will also be deleted from backup databases during the next clean-up.
